Berhampur Development Authority (BDA) is cheating the people of Berhampur city

Dear Friends, 
Don’t you think Berhampur Development Authority (BDA) is cheating the people of Berhampur city?
  • BDA Proposed a mini-stadium in Bijipur in 2005 before elections. Work not started yet. 
  • Proposed a science city and Snake park in 2009-10. Work not started yet. 
  • Handedover 5 acres of land at the heart of the city to Saraff group for a commercial complex in 2008-09 in throughaway prises. Work not started yet. 
  • Proposed an indoor stadium in the city in 2009. Work not started yet. 
  • Proposed a Ring Road in 2005-06. Till date it is nowhere in the scene. 
  • Several times discussed about Sweage system. Work not started yet. 
  • Proposed a multi-storied parking in 2009-10. Work not started yet. 
  • Got a CDP in 2014, but never implemented. 
  • Proposed a city centre during last elections. But never discussed it again. 
  • CDP earmarked a patch of land for a Greenfield Airport in Berhampur. Project not started yet. (For whose benefit the existing Runway expantion will take place that to in 30 arers land, no body knows) 
  • BDA earmarked a patch of land for a Rock Garden. God knows when the work will begin. 
  • Constructed a bus stand at the outskrits of the city in 2015. CM inaugurated it but still it is gathering dust.

Apart from these above projects you can add amny more such projects proposed by BDA for the development of Berhampur like the (Veevak Vihar Houshing project) in the past.
If we go back to the pages of history, we can spot one thing very clearly. Just before or during Assembly Elections the ‘Berhampur Development Authority’ unexpectedly activates itself in such a way its beyond our imagination. During that period it always discusses, planes and iracts stones for several such grand projects in Berhampur city.
However, after elections they forgot everything. Even the mini-stadium project in Bijipur for which stone was laid by CM himself just before elections in 2005 is still a garbage dumpyard and the work never began. BDA and Odisha Govt forgot about this project and now even the people forgot about it.
Likewise, this organisation which was formed to expediate development works in greater Berhampur region has promised several such projects in the past. All the above points I have mentioned here are burning example of it.
Can the Chairman of BDA now answer?? Why these projects could not take-off in Berhampur ?
If you are not serious, why you or your predisesors have promised so many things without any ground?
Why the BJD government using BDA office for its Electoral Benefits during elections? Or
Is BDA working as a publicity centre of the BJD party. Or 
Is BDA cheating the people of Berhampur ??

Prof.  Prahallad  Panda was an extraordinary academic, writer, author, columnist and a communicator par-excellence who fought throughout his life for the backward region of Southern Odisha. Forum demands streetlights in Brahmapur

In a letter to Housing and Urban Development ( HUD) Minister Pratap Jena, Odisha Development Forum president Ram Prasad Tripathy has demanded to install lighting facility in various roads at the outskirts of Brahmapur city.   He said  now the city is growing very fast in its nearby rural areas but without proper lighting facility. Not only the new settlements are coming up at the outskirts of the city, but also various educational institutions, establishments, hospitals, industries and offices of organizations are coming up in nearby locations, which are coming under Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA).   However, due to lack of proper planning and vision many important junctions and roads of Brahmapur city outskirts and its nearby areas are still without proper lights and street lights.
