Tributes to Prof. Prahallad Panda on his 3rd Punyatithi
After completing Ph.D in Economics from the Berhampur University, Prof. Panda was into teaching for many years till he retired in 1998. Besides producing a number of meritorious students, he has written many books on economics and about 300 essays on culture and nationalism in Odia.
Berhampur city was very close to his heart. He was the editor of the Kalinga Barta and was also associated with many organizations of Berhampur and South Odisha.
I was fortunate to work with this great activist for a long time in all most all organisations Prof. Prahallad Panda has created for the development of Berhampur city and South Odisha.
I remember, for the publication of the #KalingaBarta, when for the first time I requested him in around 2000 and at that time I was a student at Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar; he without any hesitation has given his consent, and said, "Your  studies are on, so I am taking its full responsibility"and he worked as the editor, funder and distributor of this monthly publication.
Even on some occasions, we jointly distributed this paper in various areas of Berhampur city and with my friends I distributed it in Berhampur University, Khallikote College and other  campuses at Berhampur city, at Bhubaneswar and other places of the state and South Odisha. His emphasis was always on education, so he tried his best, even during my Delhi University days; not to disturb my studies for activism purpose and rather played the role of both of us single handedly in many occasions.

Prof. Prahallad Panda left for his heavenly abode on 02nd August, 2016 in Berhampur. But the memories of my association with him is still remains fresh and it inspires me always to engage every minute of my life for the elevation of poor people of my state and do whatever possible for the development of my motherland.
Now it’s the duty of  people like me who are associated with him, his family members, organizations and other supporters to carry on his relentless struggle for development of South Odisha and to keep his memories alive for future generations.
My tributes.....💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
