Good lighting facility on Brahmapur city outskirt roads demanded by ODF

In a letter to Shri Pratap Jena, Hon’ble Minister H&UD, government of Odisha, President of Odisha Development Forum, Ram Prasad Tripathy demanded to install lighting facility in various roads at the outskirts of Berhampur city.
He said now Berhampur city is growing very fast in its nearby rural areas but without proper lighting facility. Not only the new settlements are coming up at the outskirts of Berhampur city, but also various educational Institutions, establishments, Hospitals, Industries and offices of organizations are coming up in nearby locations of the city which are coming under Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA).
However, due to lack of proper planning and vision many important Junctions and Roads of Berhampur city outskirts and its nearby areas are still without proper lights and street lights. For which students, particularly girls, elderly people, children and common people of the city facing enormous problem at night time. Taking the advantage of darkness anti-social elements are very much active in these areas and these areas turns into a heaven for them.
He mentioned the condition of road from NH bypass to Gopalpur is without lights, though there are several educational institutions and important places on that road. The Haladiapadar Junction to Palur Hills road is also like that and there are many such roads around the city where there are no lights or negligible lighting facility.

Thus, High-Mast lighting arrangements are highly required at GOPALPUR JUNCTION, BYPASS FLYOVER TO GOPALPUR, JAGANNATHPUR JUNCTION, LANGIPALLI NH TO KAMAPALI, HALADIAPADAR JUNCTION, AUTO NAGAR AND PALUR HILLS etc.
Similarly, Street lighting facility is also required from Narendrapur to Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC), Haladiapadar Junction to Palur Hills, NH Bypass to Gopalpur, First Gate to Kukudakhandi, First Gate to Mahuri kalua and Gate Bazar to Nimakhandi on urgent basis.
Earlier, on various occasions Mr. Tripathy brought this issue to the notice of authorities but without any result.
Thus, ODF once again requested the Hon'ble Minister and the District Administration and the City Development Authorities to look into this matter on urgent basis because it is creating huge inconvenience for lakhs of commuters daily.
