ODF & Ganjam Chamber of Commerce meet for early establishment of Berhampur Airport

'Ganjam Chamber of Commerce' and its allied organizations whole heartedly supported the demand for Berhampur Airport raised by 'Odisha Development Forum' and extended full support for its early establishment.

During the meeting 'Odisha Development Forum' president Ram Prasad Tripathy presented the developments taken place, the communications and government's response regarding Berhampur Airport till date.



President of the Chamber of Commerce E Shiv Prasad Rao said, "We are fully committed for all-round development of Berhampur city and Ganjam District. So, for establishing the Airport we will write, meet Govt authorities and fully support the call of Odisha Development Forum and other civil society organizations to expedite the Airport project for the development of Berhampur city".

Representatives of Ganjam Chamber of Commerce, Utkal State Chamber of Commerce, Jewellery Association, Forum for Ganjam, Odisha Development Forum and other organizations, ODF President Ram Prasad Tripathy, Smt. Babita Patra, Swarajya Sahu, Laxmi Narayan Padhy, V Someswar Rao, VS Vashana, Nehal Raju and Forum for Ganjam members Shri Suresh Jamula, Shri Manas Ranjan Patra and others participated in the meeting.

Prof.  Prahallad  Panda was an extraordinary academic, writer, author, columnist and a communicator par-excellence who fought throughout his life for the backward region of Southern Odisha. Forum demands streetlights in Brahmapur

In a letter to Housing and Urban Development ( HUD) Minister Pratap Jena, Odisha Development Forum president Ram Prasad Tripathy has demanded to install lighting facility in various roads at the outskirts of Brahmapur city.   He said  now the city is growing very fast in its nearby rural areas but without proper lighting facility. Not only the new settlements are coming up at the outskirts of the city, but also various educational institutions, establishments, hospitals, industries and offices of organizations are coming up in nearby locations, which are coming under Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA).   However, due to lack of proper planning and vision many important junctions and roads of Brahmapur city outskirts and its nearby areas are still without proper lights and street lights.
